Applications
Colony count is the quantitative
determination
of microorganisms present
in a sample.
The quantity can represent
either the total
bioburden or the detection
and quantification
of specific microorganisms.
The counts are
expressed in colony-forming
units per 1 ml
sample volume (CFU/ml).
